Would you like to see this camp fully operational by 2012 so that we can schedule youth camp dates to be held at Camp Tishomingo?
So very many faithful people have put their shoulders to the plow for the last several years and we have progressed tremendously toward our goal of having an operational camp. Yet, we are still shy of a number of construction phases before we can start the operational phase. We thank the Lord for the funds and labor He has provided during the last three years. However, we must continue to press forward and get the job done for His Glory and Honor. Let us all think about the project Nehemiah faced and the challenges he overcame with God's help and power.
The key verses that stand out for us to day is: "For the people had a mind to work." (Nehemiah 4:6), and "Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also." (II Cor. 8:7). These Bible verses address the issue of working and giving. May the Lord help us in both areas.
Please review the below table for projects that need to be completed. If we perform some of that work ourselves, then the cost outlined below will be proportionately reduced.
Phil Wright, director of construction estimates that is take about $30,000 to get camp ready for a temporary permit to have camp here in 2012.
We might be a little intimidated by the $30,000 needed. And we may ask, "How can we possibly obtain that amount of money during this economic downturn?" Well, we believe that there is no economic recession in heaven's economy. The Lord still owns ALL the cattle on a thousand hills.
The $30,000 might not seem so intimidating if it is broken down into smaller pieces. Assuming that there are 100 giving units (families) among the three to four churches that are actively participating in this Camp Tishomingo project, then the total amount needed can be broken down into smaller "chunks" as follows. And if this giving is spread out over six month, then it seems even more doable.

So, based on the above assumptions and calculation...if 100 families gave $50 per month for 6 month all the fund necessary to complete this project phase would be available. Admittedly, there may be some families that can give only perhaps half that amount. Then, on the other hand, some may be able to give double, or even three times that amount.
However, if we all prayed and searched our hearts and stepped out in faith, we are certain that the Lord would bless and provide the funds needed to finish this phase of the camp before the start of next camping season.
Would you please pray, and see what the Lord would have you do to participate in this Camp Tishomingo Completion Project.
