Camp 2011 has been completed.
It was held at Camp Burton.

Due to the fact that Camp Tishomingo is still in the construction phase, camp ministry was held at Camp Burton this year.

The dates were as follows:

  • Junior Camp: June 27 through July 1st. 2011
  • Teen Camp: June 20 through June 25, 2011

Teen Camp

I believe it might take an inspired penman to fully describe what our Lord accomplished in the hearts of the young people and workers who gathered for Teen Camp this year.  Thirty-nine teenagers were there, and I do not know that any of them returned to their homes unchanged by the Lord; only He would know that for sure.  Day by day, God was working individually in hearts; but on Thursday night, it seemed that He wanted to touch everyone simultaneously.  So many young people, many through tears, bowed before the Lord as He worked within them.  I had personally never witnessed anything like that involving such a large percentage of a group (in church or at camp); it was a blessing to be a part of God’s working.

Throughout the week, Pastor Alberto Marquez challenged us to make and keep covenants with God in various areas of our lives.  His messages were direct from God’s Word to the heart, and God used them.  As you read this brief report of an amazing week, please say a prayer for the teens and workers whose hearts were moved and whose lives were changed. Junior Week

It was exciting to see younger children at Junior Camp!  Of the 33 campers, nine were 3rd graders, meaning this was the first year they were old enough to go to Camp Tishomingo; a few others in the older grades were also spending their first week at camp.  It’s exciting to think of what this could mean for future years at camp!

God was again pleased to work in many young lives.  Campers heard messages on the life of David during the evening preaching services; but God especially used the counselors, who followed up on the messages and spoke with the campers personally in the cabins.  Many decisions for the Lord were made by campers and workers, including those who dedicated their lives to the Lord, who committed to faithfully reading God’s Word daily, or who desire to be baptized upon their return to their home churches.  Again, we encourage you to pray for these young lives, that the Lord would help them to live out His Word in their daily lives.  And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. (Lu 2:52)

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (2Pe 3:18)
